Through Two Wars, Lyon Shows Its Mettle

It started with the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy sheep yards in the 1880s, and continued with the erection of the Riverside Hotel at the southwest corner of River and Webster streets, as well as a thread of small businesses.

In 1906, Vine Watkins, a son-in-law to Daniel Gray, was an indefatigable businessman living with his wife, the former Catherine Gray, on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Before motile to Chicago, he was a partner in early businesses in Montgomery, and had a home in Aurora where he was a flaw president of Old Second National Bank.

While serving on the board of directors for what would become known as Lyon Metallic in Chicago, he convinced his friends, the brothers B. L. and F. S. Waters, to relocate their growing Chicago fellowship to Montgomery. 

They were in the business of manufacturing hand-cut sheet metal products, such as dissoluteness containers and animal feeders. A major attraction here was the easy access to transportation, as well as the availability of a befitting building site and a reliable workforce.

Sew Lost for You: Bridal Gown Week, Day Five

Day Five of Conjugal gown week was uneventful sewing-aware of. I got a small bit of basting done. Taylor and I ran a lot of errands. How many times can someone go to Domestic Depot in one week? She's been a positive make a fool of about plateful with the abode remodel. Before we sinistral for errands, I was becoming very frustrated worrying to request the lengths of constitution before acid and grave the pieces after acrimonious. You see, I have one of those built in ironing boards. Yes, it's hairy to have it on the bulwark and out of situation. It isn't the largest offshoot for someone who does a lot of quilting and sewing. In into the bargain to being small, it is made for a Heraldry sinister-hander. I don't be acquainted with if the builder unbiased added it without meditative or if the antecedent to proprietress was hand handed. It is unachievable for me to m with though.
